The LYMAS project recently hosted “Between the Words: On Video as Participatory Tool in Migration Research”, a screening and discussion event held on 26 November 2025 at Recepcja in Wrocław as part of the SocjoPercepcja series. Bringing together workshop participants, filmmakers, and researchers, the meeting created space to reflect on the attempts to use participatory and visual methods in studying mobility, everyday life, and the possibilities of de-migranticizing migration research. The programme featured several short films created during the project’s participatory workshops. After the screening, the invited guests and the audience engaged in an open conversation about possibilities and pitfalls of collaborative knowledge production, discussing what constitutes participatory-driven research, how film can function as a methodological tool, and how positionality, care, and shared responsibility shape collaborative processes.
