LYMAS at the ISA Forum in Rabat

From July 5th to 11th, members of the LYMAS team participated in the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology held in Rabat, Morocco.

Elżbieta Opilowska, Mateusz Karolak, and Anna Shostak presented a paper exploring how young Ukrainian women negotiate life strategies in Wrocław, Poland. Meanwhile, Edward Omeni and Johanna Bastian contributed to discussions on research methodology, drawing on insights from the participatory filmmaking workshop “De-Centering Knowledge Production in Migration Research through Participatory Filmmaking: What Is Data, What Becomes Output?”

The five-day conference was full of meetings with old acquaintances (including Ayesha Mahmud, a former research assistant in the Polish LYMAS team and now a doctoral candidate at Uppsala University) as well as new colleagues, interesting discussions and exchanges, and many new ideas.
